System requirements:
Radionet is supported on any Unix platform that supports the 1.4.x Java Runtime Environment and is
disponibled under rpm package or .tar.gz .
Radionet need that you have already installed JRE (Java
Runtime Environement). If you haven't already installed java, you can download it on the web site of
SUN for several platforms.
Radionet has been tested on the platforms freeBSD 4/5/6, Linux 6/7/8, MacosX, Solaris 8 (SPARC Platform Edition).
System requirements: A Pentium 200 (or equivalent like AMD™)
or faster processor is required with at least 128 megabytes of physical RAM
to run Radionet.
Running with less memory may cause disk swapping which has a severe effect on performance.
For adequate performance, at least a Pentium 400MHz (or equivalent like AMD™) and 256
megabytes of RAM is recommended.
To install:

Installation via the rpm package: download the file Radionet-2.2.0-1.i586.rpm and save as your choice. Install the rpm as super-user (root).

#> rpm -ivh Radionet-2.2.0-1.i586.rpm
Freebsd 32 bits
#> rpm -ivh --nodeps --ignorearch --ignoreos Radionet-2.2.0-1.i586.rpm

#> rpm -ivh --nodeps --ignorearch --ignoreos Radionet-2.2.0-1.i586.rpm

#> rpm -ivh --nodeps --ignorearch --ignoreos

Uninstall with urpmi

#> rpm -e Radionet
The default Installation Path is /opt/scito and a link is created as /usr/bin/radionet.
To start radionet: $> radionet
or enter the path of your jre: $> radionet --java-home /usr/local/jdk1.4.2/jre/ -
Installation via the tar.gz: download the file Radionet-2.2.0.tar.gz and save as your choice.
To install:
Unpack the package in the directory of your choice (i.e. /usr/local/):
$> tar zxvf Radionet-2.2.0.tar.gz
To start:
$> cd my_directory/scito/radionet/bin/
$> ./radionet.sh
or enter the path of your jre: $> ./radionet.sh --java-home /usr/local/jdk1.4.2/jre/
For your first use of Radionet,you should check your own configuration by cliking on "Control your configuration".
-Memory: Radionet need at least 128 Mb to run correctly.
-Internet: Radionet need an internet connection or at least an intranet if the data server is localized on your intranet.
-DNS: the domain name resolution is not required by Radionet, but you should enter on the field "Scito download server" an I.P. adress (i.e. 134.157.184.162) instead of a domain name (i.e. www.scito.com).
-Ports: Some local ports need to be open.
For the Scito session server Scito / "demo", the local ports are
3838, 3839, 50001, 50002 and 50003.
The most frequent problems are du to
a connection through a firewall.
Be sure that all the required ports are open like writen above.

Supply the fields "Scito Download Server"
(i.e. "www.scito.com") and "Scito Session Server
(i.e. "demo") then click on start button.
The software updates itself automatically then you have to enter your identification name
and password:
